Lavender Season in Provence

YOU MAY BE SURPRISED WHEN I TELL YOU THAT…

…Provence is not only lavender fields! Provence looks like a different world with its unique culture, architecture and even cuisine! 

However, exactly this post will be about lavender fields! :D

So, when and where exactly to go in order to see the most beautiful fields?

We were in Valensole, one of the most tourist villages of Provence. Lavender season here starts from the 15th of June and finishes approximately on the 15th of July. Best time to visit is the last week of June. 

However, there are other places where lavender season is different (from mid July till mid August). One of these places is the village Sault which is also very beautiful and full of lavender fields! So, you just need to check carefully the dates and the most appropriate places before planning your trip.

HOW TO FIND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FIELD?

It must be the easiest question!

 The most famous lavender place is called Plateau of Valensole but you can find beautiful fields everywhere in this region. For example, we just stopped next to this pretty field in the middle of the road in order to take these pictures.

And yes, I took my wedding dress to Provence and I never regretted it!!

P.S. The magical castle in the pictures is a real castle called “Chateau d’Esparron” situated in the heart of Provence just next to the lake. The village Esparron-de-Verdon exists since 1218 and its population is about 500 people, can you imagine?!

By the way, I have never slept in the castle before, during 2 days I had a chance to wake up like a queen and to have my hot chocolate and croissants for breakfast🥐 What can be better?!
